Percy Hudson
Every relationship is as unique as the individuals that make it up. Therefore, a therapeutic approach to navigating relationships must be equally as unique. I am committed to helping couples understand each other and themselves within their relationship. In session, couples learn and practice new skills to navigate difficult transitions and topics. They also learn to utilize their strengths as individuals and as a couple to build (or rebuild) a life of quality, joy, and devotion to one another.
Dynamic changes like having new children, losing a job, shifting careers, moving to a new location or home, disappointments, betrayals, and loss make an impact on relationships. It can sometimes be difficult to see these impacts and can be even more difficult to verbalize feelings and navigate these changes alone. For couples this means learning how to better understand one another, how to communicate more effectively, and how to reconnect after periods of disconnect and loneliness within the relationship.
I also have a passion for working with teenage and adult males. While American culture is shifting to make more space for male emotional expression, it can still be difficult for men to recognize, understand, express, process, and reconcile their emotions. I am committed to helping men learn to navigate trauma, anxiety, and depression in a safe space where they can be heard and learn to cope in healthy ways.
I specialize in working with couples and with males ages 13 and older to learn how to unlock emotional vocabulary and depth. I am dedicated to helping couples and individuals learn how to understand themselves better and to learn new skills for building healthier lives and relationships.
For those who desire it, I provide counseling from a biblical perspective, integrating faith into sessions to align with spiritual beliefs.
My experience as a therapist, husband, father, and child of a blended family grants me a unique opportunity to provide a safe space to unpack, understand, and navigate emotions that otherwise get pushed to the side, swept under the rug, or ignored for the sake of image.
